Ans: Social media has becom the integral part of modern life because people use it for reading news, watching music videos, sharing pictures or videos, finding a job, and so on.

C. Why do people use Facebook and YouTube?
Ans: People use facebook and you tube for, news, information, watching any video, for sharing any content and expressing one’s views on a particular issue and so on.
d.What is a blog? How can it be beneficial to us?
Ans: A blog is a website that allows users to reflect, share opinions, and discuss various topics in the form of an online journal and it also allows the readers to comment on their posts. It is beneficial to us because we can share our opinions or discuss various topics through it.
e.Was Prita’s intention bad when she sent a message to her friends?
Ans: No, her intention ws not wrong. She just wanted to aware her friends about the selection of a hospital and its service.
f.How did Prita’s message become a big problem?
Ans: Prita’s message became a big problem when one of her friends shared it to a website. Many people read and commented about it. She was connvicted of violating ICT law, made to pay for losses and was detained.
g. Why was she convicted by the court ?
Ans: She was convicted by the court because the message, that she sent was the cause of the loss of hospital and she had violated the law of using the ICT.
h. What was the purpose of the campaign, “Bantu Bebaskan Prita”?
Ans: The purpose of ‘Bantu Bebaskan Prita’ was to collect coins to help Prita to pay the amercement.

Ans: People are stronger than social media because we have common sense and we can easily think before we act and think before we speak.

a. Does social media have positive impact in the society? Discuss.
Ans: Nothing is good or bad in itself. It depends on its use. If social media is used poperly, it can have positive impact in the society. But, in the context of Nepal it does not seem to have positive impact in the society. People are addicted to it and it is not so good. Many crimes have been committed using social media. School and college students are addicted to it which has hampered their studies. The
excessive use of anything is not good. If social media is excessively used, definitely it causes negative impact in the society.

b.How do you compare virtual communication and face-to-face communication?
Ans: Undoubtedly, face to face communication is the best form of communication. Face to face communication is not affected by anything whereas virtual communication can be affected by any external source. Virtual communication is not as safe as face to face communication. People, sometimes can hide their real identify in virtual form but there is direct communication between two individuals in face to face form. On the other hand virtual communication can itself be recorded and produced in the future but face to face communication in its natural form is only for the particular moment. When people cannot meet each other virtual communication helps us to get connected with one another.

a. There are different schools of thought regarding the social media. Some people see the benefits while others see problems in them. What are your observations? Explain the advantages and disadvantages of the social media giving your position in it.
Ans: Everything has its pros and cons. The proper use of social media is beneficial, we can get benefits from them but misuse of it can ruin our life. We can get news, information, education, share messages to each other, find employer as well as employes through the media. But in the context of Nepal, it seems that people are misusing it. Social evils, domestic violence, cyber crimes, blackmailing and many other social crimes have been increasing due to social media. Sometimes people post and share the content that violates the social norms and tolerance.
In conclusion, social media can be boon to us. We should try to take advantages from it. The users should be aware of its negative impacts. If it is used properly, it can be a tool to reform our society.

b.What is cyber bullying? What are its effects? How can it be stopped?
Ans: Cyber bullying is a crime. It is an activity of using modern means of communication, social media to threaten, blackmail or for any other crime. Nowadays cyber bullying has been increasing day by day. It affects the society very badly. Cyber bullying causes fear, anxiety, depression etc. and the victim has to suffer a lot. Sometimes the effect of it can be very serious, the victim may commit sucide because they do not feel safe or do not find any solution. If the victim is a student he/she may drop-out, or may lose interest to continue his/her study. It can bring serious social disorder. Cyber bullying must be stopped to maintain peace in the society. Proper implementation of existing law is very important to solve it. People should be aware of these kinds of crime and go to police, if anyone tries to bully them. Those who are involved in it should be strictly punished so that others do not dare to do it. Security force should be alert and active to stop it.
